Edinburgh Included In The Top Three European Cities For Property Investment

Many of you will have seen that London is seen as one of the places in Europe to invest in property. But it would appear the tide is slowly starting to turn. Analysis from property consultancy CBRE has shown that Edinburgh property investment conditions are on the rise, more than likely driven by London’s overheating property market.

In a recent article published by the Scotsman, it’s been suggested that investors are beginning to look elsewhere with Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, coming third in the top 10 European cities in which to invest.

The article, written by David O’Leary, said: “Lack of supply in large prime-property markets, such as London, and rapid re-pricing in recovering markets, such as Spain, mean investors are looking to mid-size European cities for value.”

According to O’Leary’s piece, investors are being seduced by Edinburgh’s “growing employment, a stable economy and established office markets.”

However, it’s not just Edinburgh where demand is growing. Glasgow, thanks to the Commonwealth Games legacy, Aberdeen, due to it’s oil industry, and Dundee, as a result of waterfront redevelopment plans are all being more attractive prospects for investors.

It really is a good time for the Scottish property market.

At a time when London has become the most expensive city in the world, Edinburgh, as well as other Scottish cities, has seen a steady growth.
