What’s the best thing about working at Cairn?
The most rewarding aspect of working for Cairn BnB is the satisfaction of happy guests and the varied responsibilities my role brings. No two days are ever the same.
What is your proudest business achievement/moment?
Hearing how we have gone above and beyond for our guests in our reviews is a proud moment for both me and the Cairn BnB team who work hard to ensure all our guests receive our 5-star service.
What is the best piece of business advice you have been given?
Treat others as you would like to be treated in business and everyday life and learn from your mistakes.
Give us an interesting fact about yourself?
I am an avid snooker fan. Top of my bucket list would be tickets for The World Championship watching Ronnie O’Sullivan win another.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Listen to your mother and believe in yourself.
Who are your heroes inside or outside of business?
My hero has to be my mum, Lorraine. She is the most kind, compassionate, brave and selfless person I know.
What qualities do you most admire in others?
Honesty and Loyalty.
How do you unwind out of work?
My time outside of work is spent with my 9-year-old son Robbie and my 5-year-old daughter Lucie. Saturdays are busy with ballet, tap and swim club. Sundays we enjoy family walks with our Border Terrier Betsy and a cycle to our local café for Brunch.
Favourite book and film?
My all-time favourite book would be Memoirs of a Geisha. This is the book I read for my Higher English back in 1996 and it still sits on my bookshelf to this day. It is one of the few books I go back to as it is such a beautiful read.
Where is your favourite place in Scotland?
As a child I spent a lot of time during the holidays in St Andrews. Now my children and I spend as much time as we can in the East Neuk of Fife. The Beach Huts in Crail are a particular favourite.
